If a neighbor's tree falls on your property, it's an act of God and your homeowner's policy takes care of it. If you see it as a hazard, state it in registered mail. If it then falls, it's negligence on the other party and they are responsible. Your insurance can pursue theirs, but if they were negligent, they lose coverage. It can be a litigation nightmare.

Redbuds tend to go through some die back. Often just removing the dead wood seems to bring them back to life.

I have never heard of anyone being responsible for a tree dying because they cut the limbs of a neighbors tree that encroached onto their property, and by law most states give homeowners the right to remove any limb that hangs over onto their property if they choose to do so.

Some people are so petty. Nothing surprises me anymore.
